A Butt Lift Can Provide a Shapelier Backside and Silhouette
A butt lift procedure at our Chesterfield, MO, practice can help you achieve a more contoured derriere if you are dissatisfied with your silhouette and the shape of your backside. Using advanced surgical techniques, Dr. Stanley L. Librach can create natural-looking results with fat grafting for a Brazilian butt lift, or can perform a traditional butt lift using implants for added size requirements. At our practice, we can also combine a butt lift with a comprehensive body contouring plan for a complete makeover and a boost in confidence.
What is a Butt Lift?
A butt lift is a cosmetic surgical procedure that is designed to improve the shape and size of a your buttocks for a more contoured silhouette. Each procedure is customized by Dr. Librach to help you achieve their desired results. Dr. Librach will work with you to decide the best treatment option for you during a thorough consultation. He will examine your health and past medical history, taking into account your aesthetic goals when customizing your individualized treatment plan. During your consultation, he will also review the pre-surgical and post-surgical instructions to help enhance your treatment experience, recovery, and results.
Butt Lift Candidates
Ideal candidates for a butt lift include patients:
- With excess skin, tissue, or fat in the buttocks
- In good overall health
- With realistic expectations
- Who do not smoke or drink alcohol in excess
- At a healthy body weight
- Desiring a more voluptuous derriere
Patients who wish to undergo a Brazilian butt lift must have enough excess fat to be grafted. If you do not have sufficient fat deposits, a traditional lift may be more appropriate for you. In addition, if you have undergone significant weight loss or have large amounts of excess skin, a traditional approach may be better suited for your needs.
Dr. Librach personally prefers the Brazilian butt lift as a safer alternative to implants and because of its ability to deliver a more natural look.
Brazilian Butt Lift vs. Traditional Butt Lift
Dr. Librach can perform your butt lift procedure in-office under local anesthesia, or in an operating room under general anesthesia. He will determine the best surgical approach during your initial consultation. Once you are comfortable, he will begin the procedure. At our practice there are two different methods available for a butt lift.
Brazilian Butt Lift
During this procedure, Dr. Librach will first remove unwanted fat from another area of your body, such as your thighs, sides, or abdomen. He will use a specialized form of liposuction and then purify the fat. Once the fat has been prepared to separate the best cells, Dr. Librach will inject the purified fat into your buttocks for added volume. He will carefully inject the fat at various depths and locations to provide the most aesthetic results.
Dr. Librach personally prefers the Brazilian butt lift as a safer alternative to implants and because of its ability to deliver a more natural look. Most patients can achieve great results in only one fat transfer treatment, but some may prefer a more dramatic look. To achieve more significant volume and projection, you can receive additional fat transfer injections in the future.
Traditional Butt Lift
For patients who do not have adequate body fat in another area of the body or who have significant sagging skin, Dr. Librach will first carefully make an incision. Incisions vary based on the patients’ unique needs, but will be made discreetly to prevent scarring, typically along the top, bottom, or crease of the buttocks. Dr. Librach will then remove excess skin, fat, and tissue, and carefully lift and reposition the muscles in your buttocks. If you are receiving implants, Dr. Librach will insert appropriately sized implants through an incision in the buttocks’ crease. He will ensure that the size and symmetry achieve the goals you discussed during your consultation
Recovery Timeline and Results
After your procedure, Dr. Librach will apply sutures, bandages, and a compression garment that will help with swelling and bruising. Patients may require an overnight stay after a butt lift, depending on the extent of work done and the volume of the enhancement. Generally, a traditional butt lift requires a more extensive recovery than a Brazilian butt lift. Due to the nature of the procedure and the anesthesia involved, you will need to have someone available to drive you home and stay with you for the first few days.
- Week 1: Follow your postsurgical instructions carefully, take medications as prescribed, and attend follow-up appointments as directed. You should plan on resting as much as possible and taking time off work.
- Weeks 2-3: Sutures and drains will be removed and limited activities can be resumed as directed by your doctor. Over time, swelling and bruising will begin to diminish.
- Months 2-6: All swelling and bruising should be minimal to nonexistent. By this time, most patients are considered fully healed and can enjoy their desired results. Your body will continue to heal, and it is not uncommon for final results to be achieved after one year.
