An Arm Lift Can Dramatically Enhance the Shape of Your Arms

Dr. Stanley L. Librach has more than 15 years of experience helping patients achieve their goals and boost their self-confidence. An arm lift performed at our Chesterfield, MO, office can refine the shape of your arms by addressing sagging skin and stubborn fat deposits, often caused from aging and extreme weight loss. Dr. Librach performs both a traditional and mini arm lift and will tailor the treatment to meet your unique needs.

At our practice, an arm lift can also be combined with an extensive body contouring plan to improve your overall figure.

Arm Lift Candidates

An arm lift is a good option for patients who have lost a significant amount of weight from diet and exercise or bariatric surgery or who have excess skin from the natural aging process. Ideal candidates for treatment are in good overall health with sufficient skin elasticity. You should also have realistic expectations and able to maintain a stable weight. At our practice this procedure can also be combined with an extensive body contouring plan to improve your overall figure. If you seek to include other procedures, you must be healthy enough to undergo more extensive surgeries and recovery periods.

Traditional Arm Lift vs. Mini Arm Lift

Dr. Librach performs arm lift surgery in an operating room under general anesthesia, and offers two surgical techniques for his patients. During your initial consultation, he will thoroughly explain both procedures, while also providing a detailed examination to ensure you qualify for this treatment.

  • Traditional Arm Lift: During this procedure, Dr. Librach will make an incision along your inner arm to remove excess fat and skin for a tighter and more toned arm. The incision is generally made from the armpit to the elbow, but may vary based on the amount of tissue being removed. Dr. Librach can also provide liposuction for patients desiring an even more dramatic transformation.
  • Mini Arm Lift: For a less invasive approach, Dr. Librach will make a much smaller and very discreet incision in your armpit to remove and trim excess fat and skin to reveal shapelier upper arms.

Recovery and Results

Once the procedure is complete, Dr. Librach will close the incisions and we will place your arms in a special compression garment to minimize inflammation and bruising. Our team will monitor you carefully after your procedure to ensure you are responding well and do not have any negative reactions to the anesthesia. If no overnight stay is required, you will need to have someone available to drive you home and stay with you the first week at least. In most cases, patients will need to expect to take at least two weeks off from work and limit their daily activity. Regular exercise and full activity is usually possible after six to eight weeks.

An arm lift can remove sagging skin and excess fat to help you achieve the thinner, sleeker appearance you desire.

Following your at-home care instructions precisely will help you recover quickly and effectively. Results can generally be noticed immediately after the procedure, but it is not uncommon to experience swelling and soreness for the first few weeks after surgery. In about two to three months, once the swelling has diminished, you will notice considerably more toned and slimmer arms.
